May I tell with you an experiment that brought me good money.

I tried lots of ways to get cash;
the ones this forum is about .
And I searched out rightly what fits me best. Well, I can't tell forex from casino gambling.
I'm a usual goofer, and I like to travel , and not to spoil (mar) eyes sitting in front of the computer.
 Not long ago , I started a blog in which I would like to open some secrets of getting cash from the Internet .

Your story on government bonds rings a bell. My great aunt sold her girl's boarding school near Dublin in 1935 and invested the proceeds in an annuity which paid 7 pounds sterling/week. This enabled her to rent a big house (now a hotel) on the west coast of Ireland, and employ a maid and a chauffeur. When she died aged 102 in 1978 7 pounds a week did not buy a week's groceries. Of course the insurance company took a bath also as they didn't expect a 43 year payout.
Moral: inflation will kill you.

My friend was growing up in France in the early 1930's. His grandfather had retired from SNCF, the French National Railroad, some years earlier and received a lump sum payout. The official recommendation at retirement was to invest the money in French Government Bonds. Grandpa however, used about half of his payout to buy a house and only put the remaining half into the recommended bonds. When my friend was about four or five years old, his grandparents still had the house, but the value of the bonds had deteriorated until there was just enough to buy him a bicycle. He told that story many times with the moral: Never trust the government.

The only problem for the consumer staples stocks you mentioned as a safe harbor is that in this recession more and more people are going to generic staples from Ralcorp and Treehouse rather than buy the more expensive PG and KMB brands. Even they are feeling the pinch.
