I really don't want to be reading a detailed narrative about Horacio's family life. Similarly, I am not interested in gloating about his yacht "Southern Cross".
I am, however, interested in why Apple Computer has had a valuation of between $200/Share and $83.0/share in the last 12 months. Also, if Apple had gone down the same percentage of the overall market, it should then be about $110.0/share currently. What is up here?

There was another article recently suggesting that Apple may become bigger than Microsoft in the next few years. I seriously thought that this was not unlikely, considering that Apple has turned much more into a gadget company and their prices are high. Further, if you've ever been to any Apple store, or to the part of (name your favourite irritating retailer here) which sells Apple products, there is a museum-like, almost reverend style of product display. Like a jewely Luxury products.

On top of this all, Apple appears to be raising its prices, at least with their machines.

One question is how hard the current financial slowdown is to hit the higher end users. It's hard to see that high end computers would not be the first thing to be replaced by The Proletarian Alternative if things start getting worse.

Then there is Ubuntu, which seems to be getting better by the release. What's missing is a brand name for a reasonably priced computer line, from server to desktop to laptop. No shortage of retailers willing to provide a good buying experience, provided they make it to Ground Hog Day. Ubuntu doesn't exactly worry about falling sales one quarter.

Lastly, what's next after the iPhone? The next gadget?

I would hold, then depending on what happens....

We sell antivirus software and support it for customers and I can tell you that the "stuff" that gets through not just ours, but every software is amazing. Consumers download viruses and override their active protection. Hackers and virus writers, especially the guys who wrote XP Antivirus are just more clever than the average consumer.

As for Mac Antivirus, I have been testing Norton on my Mac ... I am sure one day it will detect something ... nut nothing to this point.
