There is so much oil and natural gas in America that it would last us another 100+ yrs but Congress and the environmentalists have it all locked up with regulations. America's economy is based on energy and if we don't have the necessary energy, our economy suffers. Why Congress doesn't allow drilling for more oil or using the existing oil in capped wells just doesn't make sense. We do need to move on from using oil as fuel, but that technology hasn't been delivered to the market yet. Until then, we have to have oil. We will always use oil even after we stop buring it as fuel because of all the products that are made with oil. The environmentalists have gone as far as trying to put polar bears on the endangered species list but other research says that the polar bear population has actually increased since the 1960's so whats that all about? It sounds totally political as a way to kill our economy.
